Country Bible Church offers Biblical counseling
as one of its ministries. The Biblical counseling ministry at CBC
helps people deal with the issues and problems of life such as
anger, depression, life dominating sins (addictions), marital
problems, and others.
The Biblical counseling ministry at CBC
recognizes the sufficiency of God’s Word to deal with life’s
problems. Second Timothy 3:16 reads as follows, "All
Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness". Paraphrasing that verse illustrates that
Scripture tells us "what is right"; it tells us
"when we are not right"; it tells us how "to get
right again"; and it tells us how "to stay right".
This ministry employs the Word of God to bring
change into lives because God’s Word has the power to do so.
Hebrews 4:12 reads, "For the Word of God is living and
powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to
the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is
a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." The
counseling ministry at CBC realizes that the vast majority of life’s
problems and heartaches come because of sin in the lives of those
experiencing problems. We firmly believe that when a person’s
heart is changed in such a way that they are living their lives in
a way which pleases God, they will have new hope and joy and
comfort.
In that regard, Paul writes in Romans 15:4,
"For whatever things were written before were written for our
learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the
Scriptures might have hope".
