WHAT REALLY SAVES

As we speak to people concerning what they are relying on for salvation, we learn of many different things which people place their hope in-for instance their own perceived "goodness" and good works, keeping the Ten Commandments, obeying the Golden Rule, belonging to a church and church attendance, the intercession of saints, etc.

It is our prayer that all those who are relying on the above would search the Scriptures to see if their hope is real. When we search the Scriptures we find that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone. Our Lord Himself said, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who do not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:17, 18).

Paul teaches plainly in chapter 4 and verse 5 of the Roman epistle that God does not justify someone because they are "good" but because they believe, "But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness".

In Galatians 2:16 Paul makes it plain that justification if by faith alone, not some arbitrary combination of faith and works, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified".

Remember, "There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION to those who are in CHRIST JESUS……(Romans 8:1). Wouldn't you trust Him today to be your savior.
